Zonta Paul issue 2 Page Three

Entering the Electronic Age
Many thanks to Lou St. Germain who has completed the first draft of a new web-page for the St. Paul Zonta Club. At our August meeting, the Board had the opportunity to scroll through our web-page. He has done an incredible job. In the next few weeks we will be securing our domain name (www.------.org) and contracting with a network server to host our web-page. We are really excited about the possibilities that this web-site presents for the recruitment of new members. Watch for our new web address in upcoming newsletters.

Prospective Member Dinner
Since we only had 2 guests scheduled to attend the Prospective Member Dinner in July, we cancelled the evening. We hope that you will continue to bring prospective members to our program meetings. The next Program meeting will be in September. We don't have very many prospects out there at the moment, and we really need to continue to emphasize recruitment to build the size of our club. This year we have dropped from last year's 30 members, to only 28. So, keep us in mind as you meet women. Wear your Zonta pin wherever you go. People will ask. Tell them about Zonta. Invite them to learn more about us. As proud members of this organization, don't be afraid to tell people about your participation.

ON YOUR MARK
READY SET GO!

It is time to dust off your previous year's guest lists for the third Global Event. The strategy of past years has brought us success. Teams have been formed to reach the goal of an average of at least ten tickets per member. Carol Adams and Erma McGuire will be the goal keepers. A written plan will be given to each member at the August meeting. In the meantime, remind previous attendees of our event and look for new prospects. We are off and running and as in the past there will be fun, prizes and awards.

MEETING DATE CHANGE
Because of the timing of the Global Event, we will change the date of our October meeting. Normally we would meet on October 23rd, the week of our event. Instead we will meet on October 16, one week earlier. Please make this change on your calendars.

Again, because of the Global Event, we have not had a November meeting. However, this year because the event is in October, we will have a November meeting on our regularly scheduled 4th Tuesday, November 27.

St. Cloud Celebrates 50th Anniversary
As President, I received an invitation to the 50th Anniversary celebration for the St. Cloud Club. This invitation only, dinner event is scheduled for Saturday, September 22. I am unable to attend, but it would be great if someone from the St. Paul Club could attend and bring greetings from St. Paul. The cost is $25, but I believe that we would be able to pay that for you. I understand that space is limited, so only one person can attend. If you are interested, please let me know. I'll bring the invitation and RSVP card to our meeting.

75th ANNIVERSARY STONE
The inscription on the Stepping Stone at Harriet Island Regional Park commemorating St. Paul Zonta's seventy fifth anniversary is:
Zonta Club-1926 Serving St. Paul
Votes were cast by 82% of the membership. The inscription selected constituted the choice by 33% of the voters. The stone should be in place by early September. Plans are to photograph the stone and park area and share these with the members.
